Space is Money!

Today’s complex warehouse environments, measuring and weighing items in the distribution
center has become more challenging than ever before.  With the advancement of highly
sophisticated warehouse software systems, it is no longer good enough to just measure at the case level.  The need to measure and weigh those difficult irregular shaped items, that are un-boxed and sometimes very small, has become a necessity.  Warehouse systems rely more than ever on accurate cube and weight data in the Item Master to facilitate a number of important functions within your distribution center, such as slotting; storage location selection; pick to carton; packing; manifesting, and shipping. Correct data is critical in optimizing the use of space at both a micro and a macro level… And space is money!

 Cubing Odd-Shaped Solutions

To tackle this new challenge, Quantronix has developed the CubiScan 125, which uses a combination of non-contact sensing technology that blends the functionality of several small static cubing and weighing systems into one. The CubiScan 125 provides a full featured cubing and weighing system for generalized case-pack, or boxed objects; and a high-precision measuring device for small or irregular-shaped items that are usually without packaging.

Cubing More than "Just Boxes"

Using ultrasonic technology, the CubiScan 125 has a large capacity up to 30 x 24 x 36 inches—enough to measure and weigh most case-pack or boxed items.  But in addition, by means of an innovative and patented technique using infrared light sensors, the system is able to see and accurately measure a wide variety of small and irregular items with an impressive resolution of just 5 hundredths of an inch.  This makes the CubiScan 125 ideal for measuring and weighing those difficult items like apparel, bottles, hardware, tools, jewelry, pharmaceuticals, healthcare supplies, and nearly anything of any shape and color, while maintaining the functionality and capacity necessary to measure and weigh larger cases or boxes.

Performance Cubing

Along with its unique and powerful dimensioning capabilities, the CubiScan 125 includes a high-precision scale capable of weighing extremely light items down to 5 thousandths of a pound.  The scale complements the measurement function, making it a powerful tool that will measure and weigh at both ends of the performance spectrum.

Precision and Toughness

Although the CubiScan 125 is a precise measuring instrument, it is built tough for industrial use.  It uses a three-load cell design for weighing accuracy, consistency and durability, and the dimensioner is designed to be modular—allowing it to be user serviceable with components that are easily replaced if necessary.

Data Transfer Strengths

The CubiScan 125 includes an easy to use integrated touch-screen display.  It can be equipped with barcode scanning equipment, printing devices, and camera technology for capturing digital images of the item during measurement.  As with all CubiScan systems, the 125 utilizes Quantronix’ software interface program called Qbit™.  Qbit is a valuable tool in storing and transferring data to your data processing host, updating the item master with accurate cube and weight information, which can be used to improve the efficiency of your warehouse operation.  Qbit is powerful yet flexible, with a number of dynamic features including customizable import and export options and user definable data entry fields.  It can be used “out of the box,” or modified for specific applications and unique data transfer requirements.

Avoid Common Distibution Center Pitfalls

By combining proven, reliable sensing technologies, the CubiScan 125 offers greater flexibility and performance by measuring larger case-pack items as well as small, irregular or unpackaged items in a single cubing and weighing workstation.  It is a productive tool in collecting data that will allow you to manage space at all levels in your operations.
