Located in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Hoffmaster manages 3,300 active SKU’s and ships/receives between 30,000 and 35,000 cases daily. CHALLENGES
Hoffmaster has a lot going on—it manufactures, distributes, and receives imported goods in the same facility. It can be hard to assure quality control and customer satisfaction in such a busy space, much less make sure that you are collecting accurate dimensions on inbound and outbound shipments with a tape measure and pencil. Hoffmaster decided that it was time to streamline and simplify with a Cubiscan.

SOLUTION
Timm Kaminski, Director of Logistics at Hoffmaster, initially brought in a Cubiscan to check and verify the weights and dimensions of cases of finished goods. He also wanted to use the Cubiscan in Hoffmaster's quality control procedures. Timm, who’s in charge of overseeing Hoffmaster’s quality control program and dimensional information, found that the Cubiscan helped immensely. “We need accurate cube data because our WMS uses that information to calculate the shipping dimensions for inbound and outbound shipments,” says Timm. With this setup, it is easy for Tim to quickly and easily update master files in their WMS software with the click of a button.

Collecting data with a Cubiscan couldn’t be more simple. Simply place a box and tap a button to receive information you can use to save your company money every day. After collecting dimensional data, it is easy to send that data wherever you need it to go. Timm sends his data to Hoffmaster's ERP and WMS programs, Manhattan’s LX and PkMS/WM. Timm goes on, “We then use the data to assist with directed put-away of our finished goods into storage locations, optimize our warehouse space, replenishment, order fulfillment, and for reliable shipping dimensions and weight.
